ARTIST’S STATEMENT –

I started drawing when I was three. My mom, who also draws, helped me learn a few techniques, and gave me tips, but I developed my drawing style by being persistent and constantly practicing. I like drawing because It allows me to disconnect from the real world for a while. I use art to create a fantasy, express my thoughts, and my inner feelings. I often use photographs as guide images, and then I make changes to them. I try to capture all the details of what I am drawing. I like it best when my drawings come out entirely different to the ones I have done previously. My favorite tools to work with are blending stumps, 6B pencils, and the Canson Art notebooks. The blending stump allows me to work good smudging techniques, which gives the effect of realism in my drawings, and it can also be used, on occasions, as a pencil. The Canson notebook’s smooth paper is fantastic for drawing and much easier to manage smudge lines. In my art I like using the human figure because I like capturing its variations of shadows, actions, and beautiful poses. Although I have used pencil as my main medium, I am looking forward to working with color in future drawings.
